Description

Impress your guests with this easy Baked Brie in Puff Pastry recipe! Buttery, flaky pastry wrapped around creamy melted brie makes the perfect appetizer for holidays, parties, or date nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 wheel brie cheese (8 oz)
  • 23 tablespoons jam or preserves (fig, raspberry, or apricot)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: chopped pecans, walnuts, honey, or fresh herbs
  • Crackers, baguette slices, or fruit for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare puff pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth any creases.
  3. Assemble brie: Place brie in the center. Top with jam and optional nuts or herbs.
  4. Wrap pastry: Fold the corners over the cheese, sealing completely. Trim excess pastry and press edges to close.
  5. Brush and bake: Brush the top with beaten egg. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool and serve: Let rest 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with crackers, bread, or fruit.

Notes

  • Keep pastry cold: Cold puff pastry bakes up flakier and crisper.
  • Avoid sogginess: Don’t use too much jam or wet toppings.
  • Make ahead: Assemble up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Serving idea: Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with rosemary for a gourmet touch.
  • Leftovers: Reheat in the oven for 10 minutes at 350°F for best texture.
