Ingredients

Cheesecake Layer

  • 16 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs + 1 egg white

Banana Bread Layer

  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large or 3 small ripe bananas, mashed (about 1¼ cups)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup miniature chocolate chips

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 3 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoons sour cream
  • ⅓ cup chopped walnuts (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and line a springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, sour cream, vanilla, and flour. Mix gently. Add eggs and egg white one at a time. Set aside.
  3. Whisk oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Stir in mashed bananas.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Fold into banana mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Spread banana bread batter evenly in the pan. Carefully pour cheesecake batter over the top.
  6. Bake 60–70 minutes until mostly set. Turn off oven, crack door, and cool 1 hour.
  7. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Beat frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread over chilled cheesecake and garnish with walnuts.

Notes
