Description
Juicy baked beef patties filled with melty cheese and topped with more cheese. An easy, crowd-pleasing dish perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.
Ingredients
Patty mixture:
- 680 g beef mince (20% fat)
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 60 g breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp Italian herb blend
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For finishing:
- 170 g cheese (mozzarella or cheddar), cubed
- 120 g grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Line a baking tray.
- Combine all patty ingredients in a bowl and mix gently.
- Divide into 10–12 portions. Flatten each, add a cheese cube in the center, and seal.
- Shape into patties and place on tray.
- Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 20–25 mins.
- Sprinkle grated cheese on top in the last 5 mins of baking.
- Garnish with herbs and serve warm.
Notes
- Use cheese that melts well, like mozzarella or cheddar.
- Don’t overmix the beef to keep patties tender.
- Patties freeze well—make extra for later!
