Description

Cheesy Garlic Green Beans are the ultimate side dish—crispy, garlicky, and smothered in gooey melted cheese. Quick, easy, and perfect for weeknight dinners or holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes or breadcrumbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim the green beans. Pat dry.
  2. (Optional) Blanch beans in salted boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then plunge into ice water. Drain.
  3. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add green beans, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5–7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan over the beans. Cover skillet for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with extra parmesan or red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Blanching the beans first helps keep them bright green and crisp.
  • For a smoky flavor, add crumbled bacon.
  • Use a mix of cheeses like cheddar, Gruyère, or a four-cheese blend for variety.
  • For crunch, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before adding cheese.
  • Don’t overcook—beans should remain slightly crisp for the best texture.
