Description
Cheesy Garlic Green Beans are the ultimate side dish—crispy, garlicky, and smothered in gooey melted cheese. Quick, easy, and perfect for weeknight dinners or holiday meals.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes or breadcrumbs for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and trim the green beans. Pat dry.
- (Optional) Blanch beans in salted boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then plunge into ice water. Drain.
- In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add green beans, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5–7 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan over the beans. Cover skillet for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra parmesan or red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
- Blanching the beans first helps keep them bright green and crisp.
- For a smoky flavor, add crumbled bacon.
- Use a mix of cheeses like cheddar, Gruyère, or a four-cheese blend for variety.
- For crunch, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before adding cheese.
- Don’t overcook—beans should remain slightly crisp for the best texture.
