- 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese (or cheddar + mozzarella)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional toppings:
- Sliced jalapeños
- Crushed tortilla chips
- Chopped green onions
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat: Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly.
- Cook the Meat: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain grease, then stir in taco seasoning and water (as directed). Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll pizza dough into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
- Assemble: Spread taco meat evenly over half the dough, sprinkle cheese, then fold the other half over and press edges to seal.
- Slice & Twist: Cut into strips (about 1 inch wide), twist gently, and place on baking sheet.
- Top & Bake: Brush with melted butter, sprinkle garlic powder and oregano, then bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Let cool slightly, garnish with green onions or cilantro, and serve warm with salsa or sour cream.
Notes
- Make It Spicy: Add jalapeños or a pinch of chili flakes for extra heat.
- Healthier Option: Use lean ground turkey or vegetarian taco filling.
- Cheese Choice: For best melt, shred your own cheese instead of pre-packaged.
- Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days, or freeze up to 2 months.
- Reheating: Warm in oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes for best texture.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
