Description

A creamy, smoky, and spicy sauce made with sour cream, chipotle peppers in adobo, garlic, and lime—perfect for tacos, grilled meats, and dipping.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 whole chipotle peppers in adobo
  • 1 tbsp adobo sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or roasted
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for texture)

Instructions

  1. Mince or roast garlic (roasted = milder flavor).
  2. Blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
  3. Adjust seasoning and consistency as needed.
  4. Chill for 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • Add extra chipotle for more heat.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for tanginess.
  • Stir in chopped cilantro for a herby twist.
