Description

Flaky, buttery twists filled with mini chocolate chips for a quick and fun pastry treat made with just five ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough (pressing the seams together) or lay out the puff pastry sheet.
  3. Brush the surface with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with sugar.
  4. Scatter mini chocolate chips across the dough and gently press them in.
  5. Cut into 1-inch strips and twist each strip several times.
  6. Place the twists on the baking sheet and bake 9–12 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, mix a little cinnamon into the sugar before sprinkling.
  • Press chocolate chips firmly into the dough to prevent them from falling out during twisting.
  • Puff pastry will give you flakier results than crescent dough—both work great.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and melty chocolate.
