Description
Flaky, buttery twists filled with mini chocolate chips for a quick and fun pastry treat made with just five ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough (pressing the seams together) or lay out the puff pastry sheet.
- Brush the surface with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with sugar.
- Scatter mini chocolate chips across the dough and gently press them in.
- Cut into 1-inch strips and twist each strip several times.
- Place the twists on the baking sheet and bake 9–12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra sweetness, mix a little cinnamon into the sugar before sprinkling.
- Press chocolate chips firmly into the dough to prevent them from falling out during twisting.
- Puff pastry will give you flakier results than crescent dough—both work great.
- Serve warm for the best texture and melty chocolate.
