Description

Celebrate the holidays with these chewy, buttery Christmas Cookie Bars! Loaded with festive M&Ms and chocolate chips, they’re quick to make, easy to share, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup red and green M&Ms
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup holiday sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  4. Whisk together dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, and salt) in a separate bowl. Gradually mix them into the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in M&Ms, chocolate chips, and sprinkles.
  6. Spread dough evenly into the prepared pan and press gently.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake — the bars will continue to firm up as they cool.
  • Use parchment paper for easy lifting and cutting.
  • Customize with white chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, or nuts.
  • Add extra M&Ms on top before baking for a more festive look.
  • Chill the dough for 15 minutes if you prefer thicker, softer bars.
