Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup red and green M&Ms
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
- Whisk together dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, and salt) in a separate bowl. Gradually mix them into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in M&Ms, chocolate chips, and sprinkles.
- Spread dough evenly into the prepared pan and press gently.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
Notes
- Don’t overbake — the bars will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Use parchment paper for easy lifting and cutting.
- Customize with white chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, or nuts.
- Add extra M&Ms on top before baking for a more festive look.
- Chill the dough for 15 minutes if you prefer thicker, softer bars.
