Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • Optional: holiday sprinkles, crushed candy canes, or white chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together softened butter and cream cheese until creamy.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Add Cake Mix: Gradually add the cake mix, stirring until a thick dough forms.
  5. Form Cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions, roll into balls, and coat each ball in powdered sugar.
  6. Bake: Arrange on the baking sheet, leaving space between cookies. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
