Description

Cinnamon Brown Butter Cookies are Soft, warmly spiced cookies made with browned butter and cinnamon for a rich flavor and tender texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until lightly browned and nutty in aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk browned butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are soft. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough helps enhance flavor and prevent spreading.
  • For extra warmth, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom.
  • Cookies firm up as they cool, so avoid overbaking.
