Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp cotton candy flavoring (or extract)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- Pink gel food coloring
- Blue gel food coloring
- Optional: sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and cotton candy flavoring until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients to form dough.
- Divide dough into two portions. Tint one pink and the other blue.
- Take small pieces of each color and press together to form marbled dough balls.
- Place dough balls on baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool 5 minutes on the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra carnival flair, roll dough balls in sprinkles before baking.
- Do not overbake—cookies continue to set as they cool.
- Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes if too soft to handle.
- Store in an airtight container with a slice of bread to keep cookies soft.
- Add white chocolate chips for extra sweetness.
