Description

Creamy Marry Me Chicken Orzo is a one-pot dinner with juicy chicken, tender orzo pasta, and a rich sun-dried tomato cream sauce. Perfect for weeknights or date night!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sear until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add sun-dried tomatoes, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Stir in orzo pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Return chicken to skillet and let it cook through, about 10–15 minutes.
  6. Stir in Parmesan until sauce is creamy and smooth.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for maximum juiciness, but breasts work too.
  • Add spinach, mushrooms, or peas for extra veggies.
  • For a lighter version, swap heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Adjust consistency with extra broth if the sauce gets too thick.
