Description

Crispy Avocado Fries with Chipotle Dip — golden, crunchy, and creamy! This easy, healthy snack or appetizer is baked or air-fried to perfection and paired with a smoky, spicy chipotle dipping sauce.

Ingredients

For the Avocado Fries

  • 2 large firm-ripe avocados
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil spray

For the Chipotle Dip

  • ½ cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 12 teaspoons chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (adjust for spice)
  • ½ teaspoon honey (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Slice the avocados in half, remove pits, and cut each half into thick wedges.

  3. Prepare the coating stations:

    • Bowl 1: Flour, salt, pepper, smoked paprika

    • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs

    • Bowl 3: Panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder

  4. Coat the avocado slices by dredging in flour, dipping in egg, and rolling in breadcrumbs until fully covered.

  5. Bake or air-fry:

    • Bake: Place on a parchment-lined tray, spray lightly with oil, and bake 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway.

    • Air-Fry: Arrange in a single layer, air-fry 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.

  6. Make the dip: Mix mayonnaise, lime juice, chipotle peppers, honey, and salt until smooth.

  7. Serve immediately with chipotle dip on the side.

Notes

  • Use firm but ripe avocados for best texture — too soft and they’ll fall apart.
  • For extra crunch, double-dip the avocado slices in egg and breadcrumbs.
  • To reduce spice, use less chipotle or substitute with mild smoked paprika.
  • Serve fresh — these fries are best enjoyed hot and crispy.
  • For vegan option, use flaxseed “eggs” and vegan mayo in the dip.
