Description

Crispy, cheesy, and delicious—these Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks are baked to golden perfection. A healthy snack, side dish, or appetizer ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or olive oil

Optional: Lemon wedges, ranch, garlic aioli, or marinara for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare asparagus – Wash, dry, and trim tough ends.
  3. Set up breading station – Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third.
  4. Coat asparagus – Dredge each spear in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Arrange and bake – Place coated spears on the baking sheet. Spray with cooking spray or drizzle lightly with olive oil. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crisp.
  6. Serve – Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Air Fryer Option: Cook at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.

Notes

  • Choose thicker asparagus spears for easier breading and crispiness.
  • For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular.
  • Add chili flakes or cayenne for a spicy twist.
  • Serve immediately for best crispiness.
  • If air frying, avoid overcrowding the basket for even cooking.
