Description

Tangy, creamy, and bursting with flavor, this Dill Pickle Cheese Ball is the ultimate appetizer for parties, holidays, and gatherings. Easy to make ahead and always a crowd favorite!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup dill pickles (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Optional coating: crushed crackers, nuts, or fresh dill

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, and pickle juice. Mix until combined.
  3. Fold in chopped dill pickles, green onions, and fresh dill.
  4. Shape mixture into a ball using plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1–2 hours, or overnight.
  5. Before serving, roll cheese ball in coating of choice (crushed crackers, chopped nuts, or herbs).
  6. Serve chilled with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For stronger pickle flavor, add an extra splash of pickle juice.
  • Make mini cheese balls for bite-sized servings at parties.
  • Don’t add coating until ready to serve to keep it crunchy.
  • Use block cheese instead of pre-shredded for the best flavor.
  • Let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for easier spreading.
