Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup dill pickles (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp pickle juice
- 2 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Optional coating: crushed crackers, nuts, or fresh dill
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, and pickle juice. Mix until combined.
- Fold in chopped dill pickles, green onions, and fresh dill.
- Shape mixture into a ball using plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1–2 hours, or overnight.
- Before serving, roll cheese ball in coating of choice (crushed crackers, chopped nuts, or herbs).
- Serve chilled with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- For stronger pickle flavor, add an extra splash of pickle juice.
- Make mini cheese balls for bite-sized servings at parties.
- Don’t add coating until ready to serve to keep it crunchy.
- Use block cheese instead of pre-shredded for the best flavor.
- Let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for easier spreading.
