Description

Crispy fried mozzarella bites with a golden breadcrumb coating, perfect for parties, snacks, or game nights.

Ingredients

  • 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (or 10 sticks)
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Cayenne pepper (optional, for a mild kick)

Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella sticks into 2–3 pieces and freeze for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour, egg wash (eggs + milk), and breadcrumbs. Optionally add cayenne to flour for heat.
  3. Coat each cheese piece in flour, dip in egg wash, then breadcrumb. Repeat for double coating. Freeze 10–15 minutes.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry cheese bites in small batches 1–2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve immediately with dipping sauce like marinara, ranch, or spicy aioli.

Notes

  • Freeze cheese before frying to prevent melting out.
  • Double-coating ensures extra crispiness.
  • Reheat in an oven to maintain crunch.
