Crispy fried mozzarella bites with a golden breadcrumb coating, perfect for parties, snacks, or game nights.
Ingredients
- 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (or 10 sticks)
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- Cayenne pepper (optional, for a mild kick)
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella sticks into 2–3 pieces and freeze for 15–20 minutes.
- Set up a breading station with flour, egg wash (eggs + milk), and breadcrumbs. Optionally add cayenne to flour for heat.
- Coat each cheese piece in flour, dip in egg wash, then breadcrumb. Repeat for double coating. Freeze 10–15 minutes.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry cheese bites in small batches 1–2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with dipping sauce like marinara, ranch, or spicy aioli.
