Description

Tender, juicy, and full of flavor, this easy Mississippi Pot Roast is a slow-cooked comfort food classic made with just 5 ingredients. Perfect for family dinners or meal prep!


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 68 whole pepperoncini peppers
  • Optional: 2 tbsp pepperoncini juice for extra tang


Instructions

  1. Place the chuck roast into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  3. Place the stick of butter on top of the roast.
  4. Add whole pepperoncini peppers around the roast.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours (or high for 4–5 hours) until beef is fork-tender.
  6. Shred the roast with two forks, mix into the juices, and serve.

Notes

  • For deeper flavor, sear the roast in a hot skillet before adding it to the slow cooker.
  • Add carrots, potatoes, or onions for a complete one-pot meal.
  • Use an Instant Pot: Cook on high pressure for 60 minutes, then natural release.
