Description

These fudgy red velvet brownies are the perfect mix of chewy, moist, and chocolatey goodness with a pop of vibrant red. Easy to make, stunning to serve, and customizable with cream cheese swirls or chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vinegar (or buttermilk)
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Optional: 4 oz cream cheese (softened, for swirl)
  • Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and whisk together with sugar and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. Add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring. Mix until combined.
  4. Gently fold in flour, salt, and vinegar (or buttermilk). Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. (Optional) Swirl in cream cheese mixture for a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake—the brownies should stay fudgy in the center.
  • For brighter red color, use gel food coloring instead of liquid.
  • Add a cream cheese frosting for a bakery-style finish.
  • Chill before cutting for cleaner slices.
