Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vinegar (or buttermilk)
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- Optional: 4 oz cream cheese (softened, for swirl)
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and whisk together with sugar and cocoa powder until smooth.
- Add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring. Mix until combined.
- Gently fold in flour, salt, and vinegar (or buttermilk). Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- (Optional) Swirl in cream cheese mixture for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Don’t overbake—the brownies should stay fudgy in the center.
