Description

Crispy breaded cod strips seasoned with garlic and herbs, served with a creamy homemade lemon dipping sauce.


Ingredients

For the Cod Strips

  • 1 lb cod fillets, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for frying

For the Creamy Lemon Sauce

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Pat cod dry and cut into strips.
  2. Set up breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
  3. Mix garlic, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper into breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat cod in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry cod strips for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  7. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  9. Serve cod strips warm with creamy lemon sauce.

Notes

  • Pat fish dry before breading for crispier coating.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • Bake or air fry for a lighter option.
