Description

Garlic mushrooms sautéed in butter, olive oil, and fresh herbs for a quick, flavorful side dish made in one pan.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 pound cremini or button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until melted.
  2. Add chopped onion if using and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  3. Add mushrooms in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes. Stir and continue cooking until golden and moisture evaporates.
  4. Add garlic and thyme, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in white wine if using and simmer for 1–2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, remove from heat, and finish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper browning.
  • Use fresh herbs for the best aroma and flavor.
  • Add garlic near the end to prevent burning.
