Description
Garlic mushrooms sautéed in butter, olive oil, and fresh herbs for a quick, flavorful side dish made in one pan.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ onion, chopped (optional)
- 1 pound cremini or button mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons dry white wine (optional)
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until melted.
- Add chopped onion if using and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Add mushrooms in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes. Stir and continue cooking until golden and moisture evaporates.
- Add garlic and thyme, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in white wine if using and simmer for 1–2 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Season with salt and pepper, remove from heat, and finish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper browning.
- Use fresh herbs for the best aroma and flavor.
- Add garlic near the end to prevent burning.
