This Grilled Cheese Sandwich combines sharp cheddar, tangy Dijon mustard, and green onions between crisp, buttery slices of sourdough. A simple, satisfying classic elevated with gourmet flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
- 2 large slices of whole grain sourdough (or crusty bread of choice)
- 1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard (thin layer on one slice)
- 1 cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese (about 3 oz), lightly packed
- 2 teaspoons chopped green onion (green parts only)
- 2 teaspoons unsalted butter (for the pan)
- Optional: extra cheese for outer crust
Instructions
- Spread Dijon mustard on one slice of bread.
- Top the other slice with grated cheddar and green onions. Assemble sandwich.
- Melt butter in skillet over medium-low heat. Place sandwich in pan.
- Grill 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden and crisp.
- Slice and serve warm.
