Description

This Grilled Cheese Sandwich combines sharp cheddar, tangy Dijon mustard, and green onions between crisp, buttery slices of sourdough. A simple, satisfying classic elevated with gourmet flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 large slices of whole grain sourdough (or crusty bread of choice)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard (thin layer on one slice)
  • 1 cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese (about 3 oz), lightly packed

  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter (for the pan)
  • Optional: extra cheese for outer crust

Instructions

  1. Spread Dijon mustard on one slice of bread.
  2. Top the other slice with grated cheddar and green onions. Assemble sandwich.
  3. Melt butter in skillet over medium-low heat. Place sandwich in pan.
  4. Grill 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden and crisp.
  5. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Grate cheese fresh for the best melt and flavor.
