Ingredients
1 package pizza dough (or homemade dough)
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup sliced pepperoni
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to form a rectangle.
Layer the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and Parmesan cheese in the center of the dough.
Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top of the cheese and pepperoni for extra flavor.
Carefully fold in the sides of the dough and then roll it up into a tight log, sealing the edges.
Place the stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Optional: Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the dough for a golden finish.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For a twist, add sautéed bell peppers or onions inside the stromboli for extra flavor.
If you prefer a spicier version, try adding some crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
You can also use a variety of meats, such as sausage or ham, along with or instead of pepperoni.
