Description
Sweet, savory, and tender, this Honey Garlic Chicken crockpot recipe is an easy, family-friendly dinner. Minimal prep, maximum flavor—ready in your slow cooker!
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- ½ cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, and rice vinegar.
- Place chicken in the crockpot. Pour sauce over the chicken, making sure it’s well coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours until chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Remove chicken and set aside. Stir together cornstarch and water, then add to the crockpot sauce.
- Cover and cook on high for 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Return chicken to the crockpot, coat in sauce, and serve with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness—they hold up better during slow cooking.
- For extra flavor, brown the chicken in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot.
- Add red pepper flakes or sriracha if you like a spicy kick.
- Double the sauce ingredients if serving over a large amount of rice or noodles.
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 2 hours
