Description

Sweet, savory, and tender, this Honey Garlic Chicken crockpot recipe is an easy, family-friendly dinner. Minimal prep, maximum flavor—ready in your slow cooker!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • ½ cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, and rice vinegar.
  2. Place chicken in the crockpot. Pour sauce over the chicken, making sure it’s well coated.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  4. Remove chicken and set aside. Stir together cornstarch and water, then add to the crockpot sauce.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Return chicken to the crockpot, coat in sauce, and serve with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness—they hold up better during slow cooking.
  • For extra flavor, brown the chicken in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot.
  • Add red pepper flakes or sriracha if you like a spicy kick.
  • Double the sauce ingredients if serving over a large amount of rice or noodles.
