A juicy, tender grilled steak marinated in honey, garlic, soy sauce, and fresh ginger. This sweet and savory recipe is perfect for summer BBQs, easy dinners, or protein-packed meal prep.
Ingredients
- 1.5 to 2 pounds skirt steak
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, ginger, vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Add steak and marinate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
- Preheat grill to medium-high. Remove steak from marinade and grill for 3–5 minutes per side.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes. Slice against the grain and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
- Marinate no more than 4 hours to avoid over-tenderizing.
- Grill over medium-high heat for best char and juicy interior.
- Slice thinly against the grain for tenderness.
- No grill? Use a cast iron skillet or broiler as an alternative.
