Description

A juicy, tender grilled steak marinated in honey, garlic, soy sauce, and fresh ginger. This sweet and savory recipe is perfect for summer BBQs, easy dinners, or protein-packed meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 to 2 pounds skirt steak
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, ginger, vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Add steak and marinate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high. Remove steak from marinade and grill for 3–5 minutes per side.
  4. Let rest for 5–10 minutes. Slice against the grain and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Marinate no more than 4 hours to avoid over-tenderizing.
  • Grill over medium-high heat for best char and juicy interior.
  • Slice thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • No grill? Use a cast iron skillet or broiler as an alternative.
