Ingredients
For the Pork Chops
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
For the Creamy Maple Dijon Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix maple syrup with 1 teaspoon Dijon and brush lightly over chops.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and sear pork chops 4–5 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream until smooth and thickened.
- Stir in garlic, remaining Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer until creamy.
- Return pork chops to skillet, spoon sauce over, and top with crumbled bacon. Simmer 3–4 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Avoid overcooking to keep pork tender
- Whisk sauce constantly to prevent lumps
- Add a splash of milk when reheating to loosen sauce
- Garnish with fresh thyme for added flavor
