Description

Tender pork chops topped with crispy bacon and smothered in a creamy maple Dijon sauce for a flavorful, comforting dinner.

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt, to taste

For the Creamy Maple Dijon Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix maple syrup with 1 teaspoon Dijon and brush lightly over chops.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and sear pork chops 4–5 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream until smooth and thickened.
  5. Stir in garlic, remaining Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer until creamy.
  6. Return pork chops to skillet, spoon sauce over, and top with crumbled bacon. Simmer 3–4 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Avoid overcooking to keep pork tender
  • Whisk sauce constantly to prevent lumps
  • Add a splash of milk when reheating to loosen sauce
  • Garnish with fresh thyme for added flavor
