Description
Marry Me Chicken is a comforting and crowd-pleasing dish that combines tender seared chicken breasts with a rich, creamy parmesan sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and Italian herbs. It’s quick enough for a weeknight meal yet impressive enough for date night or entertaining.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (drained and chopped)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant. Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and sun-dried tomatoes. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Mix in parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Let sauce thicken slightly.
- Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer until chicken is cooked through (about 7–10 minutes).
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm with your favorite side.
Notes
- Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness for quicker, more even cooking.
- For extra crispiness, dredge chicken lightly in flour before searing.
- Add spinach or kale for extra greens.
- To make it lighter, substitute half-and-half or coconut milk for heavy cream.
- Leftovers reheat best on the stove with a splash of broth to loosen the sauce.
