Description

A quick and flavorful street-style taco recipe made with marinated steak, fresh toppings, and warm tortillas.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (reduced sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 ½ pounds skirt steak, cut into pieces
  • 12 mini flour tortillas, warmed
  • ¾ cup red onion, diced
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges


Instructions

  1. Mix soy sauce, lime juice, 1 tablespoon oil, garlic, and spices to create marinade.
  2. Coat steak pieces and marinate for 20–30 minutes.
  3. Heat remaining oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook steak until browned and cooked through.
  5. Warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave.
  6. Fill tortillas with steak, onion, and cilantro.
  7. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook steak to keep it tender.
  • Let meat rest briefly before serving.
  • Add toppings like salsa or avocado for extra flavor.
