Description

These classic no bake cookies are rich, chewy, and made with chocolate, peanut butter, and quick oats. A simple stovetop recipe that sets at room temperature with no baking required.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (113 g) salted butter
  • 1¾ cups (350 g) granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup (32 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup (160 g) creamy peanut butter
  • 3 cups (275 g) quick oats

Instructions

  1. Line two baking sheets with parchment or wax paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and milk over medium heat. Stir until butter is melted and mixture is smooth.
  3. Bring to a rolling boil and let boil for exactly 1 minute without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and peanut butter until fully combined.
  5. Add quick oats and mix until evenly coated.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto prepared baking sheets.
  7. Let cookies cool and set at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.

Notes

  • Boiling for exactly one minute is key for proper setting.
  • Use quick oats only; old-fashioned oats may prevent the cookies from firming up.
  • For faster setting, place cookies in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes.
