Description

A quick and flavorful noodle dish made with simple pantry staples, fresh veggies, and a homemade teriyaki-style sauce—all in one pot.


Ingredients

  • ½ head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 2 tbsp oil (olive, canola, or vegetable)
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground mustard
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 4 cups water (plus more if needed)
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cabbage and carrots; sauté for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Add mustard, ginger, and garlic powder. Stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Add spaghetti, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water as needed.
  5. Once noodles are tender and sauce thickens, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Stir regularly to prevent noodles from sticking.
  • Use fresh garlic/ginger for bolder flavor.
  • Add tofu, chicken, or shrimp for protein.
