Description
A quick and flavorful noodle dish made with simple pantry staples, fresh veggies, and a homemade teriyaki-style sauce—all in one pot.
Ingredients
- ½ head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 2 tbsp oil (olive, canola, or vegetable)
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground mustard
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 4 cups water (plus more if needed)
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cabbage and carrots; sauté for 3–5 minutes.
- Add mustard, ginger, and garlic powder. Stir for 30 seconds.
- Add spaghetti, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water as needed.
- Once noodles are tender and sauce thickens, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
- Stir regularly to prevent noodles from sticking.
- Use fresh garlic/ginger for bolder flavor.
- Add tofu, chicken, or shrimp for protein.
