Ingredients
- 1.5 lb salmon fillet, skin on or off
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Place the salmon fillet on the prepared baking sheet and pat dry with paper towels.
- Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, dried parsley, and garlic powder.
- Spread the Parmesan mixture evenly over the top of the salmon, pressing gently to adhere.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Patting the salmon dry helps the Parmesan crust brown properly
- For extra crispness, switch the oven to broil for the last 1–2 minutes
- Freshly grated Parmesan melts and browns better than pre-shredded cheese
- Thicker fillets may need a few extra minutes of baking time
