Description

Parmesan Crusted Baked Salmon brings together tender baked salmon, a crisp cheese topping, and bright lemon flavor for an easy dinner idea.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb salmon fillet, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Place the salmon fillet on the prepared baking sheet and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, dried parsley, and garlic powder.
  5. Spread the Parmesan mixture evenly over the top of the salmon, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove from the oven and rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Patting the salmon dry helps the Parmesan crust brown properly
  • For extra crispness, switch the oven to broil for the last 1–2 minutes
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts and browns better than pre-shredded cheese
  • Thicker fillets may need a few extra minutes of baking time
