Description

Crispy fries topped with juicy steak, melted provolone, sautéed veggies, and cheese sauce—Philly Steak Cheese Fries are the ultimate comfort food perfect for game day or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak (or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 1 bag frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella/cheddar blend)
  • ½ cup cheese sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • Optional toppings: jalapeños, hot sauce, parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook French fries according to package instructions until crispy; set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak slices, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until soft and lightly caramelized.
  4. Place fries on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish. Top with steak, sautéed veggies, shredded provolone, and drizzle with cheese sauce.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with parsley or jalapeños if desired.

Notes

  • Use ribeye for the most tender and flavorful steak.
  • Make fries extra crispy by double-baking them or using an air fryer.
  • Avoid soggy fries by adding cheese sauce just before serving.
  • Add spice with jalapeños, hot sauce, or pepper jack cheese.
  • For a lighter version, use baked sweet potato fries.
