These Pineapple Brown Sugar Mississippi Lil’ Smokies Bites are a perfect balance of sweet pineapple, brown sugar, and savory sausages, making them a must-have snack for any party.
Ingredients
- 2 packages (14 oz each) of Lil’ Smokies sausages
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine and simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add pineapple chunks to the saucepan and stir to incorporate.
- Add Lil’ Smokies sausages to the saucepan, stirring to coat the sausages with the sauce. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sausages are heated through and the flavors meld.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or additional pineapple chunks.
