Description

These Pineapple Brown Sugar Mississippi Lil’ Smokies Bites are a perfect balance of sweet pineapple, brown sugar, and savory sausages, making them a must-have snack for any party.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (14 oz each) of Lil’ Smokies sausages
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine and simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  2. Add pineapple chunks to the saucepan and stir to incorporate.
  3. Add Lil’ Smokies sausages to the saucepan, stirring to coat the sausages with the sauce. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sausages are heated through and the flavors meld.
  4. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or additional pineapple chunks.

Notes

  • For added flavor, wrap the Lil’ Smokies with bacon before simmering.
