Description

A cheesy baked pasta casserole loaded with pizza flavors, including beef, sausage, marinara sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground sausage (mild, sweet, or hot Italian)
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 8 oz pizza sauce
  • 3/4 lb penne pasta
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 25 slices pepperoni
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta until al dente; drain.
  2. Brown ground beef and sausage in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
  4. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and broth.
  5. Add marinara, pizza sauce, and seasonings; simmer 5–10 minutes.
  6. Combine cooked pasta with sauce mixture.
  7. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  8. Top with Parmesan, mozzarella, and pepperoni.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until bubbly.
  10. Let cool slightly and serve.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.
  • Add mushrooms or olives for extra pizza flavor.
  • Adjust spice level with more or less red pepper flakes.
