Description

Sweet, crunchy, buttery snack mix made with cereal and pecans coated in a praline-style caramel glaze.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups crispy rice or corn cereal (such as Chex)
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cereal and pecans.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan, then add brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil for 1 minute, stirring often.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Pour caramel mixture over cereal and pecans; toss to coat.
  6. Spread mixture onto the baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Cool completely, then break into clusters.

Notes
