Description

These Sesame Crusted Salmon Patties offer a perfect balance of tender salmon and crispy sesame coating, enhanced with bold flavors like ginger, garlic, and lime


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds skinless center-cut salmon fillets, finely chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Asian fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sambal oelek (or Sriracha)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 lime, zested
  • ½ lime, juiced
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh mint, finely chopped
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs, divided
  • 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Finely chop the salmon fillets and add to a large bowl.
  2. Add mayonnaise, soy sauce, fish sauce, sambal oelek, garlic, ginger, lime zest, lime juice, red onion, cilantro, mint, green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
  3. Gradually add 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs and mix until the mixture holds together.
  4. Form the mixture into 8-10 patties.
  5. Coat each patty with a mixture of white and black sesame seeds.
  6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve with a dipping sauce or a side of vegetables.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less sambal oelek or sriracha.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free panko breadcrumbs.
  • Make sure the salmon is finely chopped to avoid large chunks.
