Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- ⅓ cup brown sugar (or honey)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp cornstarch, mixed with 3 tbsp water (for thickening)
- Optional: sesame seeds, sliced green onions, red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Sauce – In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
- Add Beef – Place sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour sauce over it. Stir to coat.
- Cook – Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours, or high for 2–3 hours, until beef is tender.
- Thicken Sauce – Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 15–20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add Broccoli – Stir in steamed broccoli (or add fresh broccoli in the last 30 minutes of cooking).
- Serve – Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions and serve hot over rice or noodles.
