Description

Crispy smash burger beef pressed onto flour tortillas, topped with melty cheese, fresh lettuce, pickles, and homemade burger sauce for an easy dinner idea.

Ingredients

For the Tacos

  • 4 flour tortillas (6-inch)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
  • 4 slices American cheese

Fresh Toppings

  • ½ cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • 12 dill pickle chips

Homemade Burger Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, relish, Dijon mustard, sugar, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions. Press each portion thinly and evenly onto one side of a tortilla. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place tortilla beef-side down and press firmly.
  4. Cook 2–3 minutes until beef develops a crispy crust. Flip, add cheese, and cook 1–2 minutes until tortilla is golden and cheese melts.
  5. Remove from heat. Top with lettuce, onions, pickles, and sauce. Fold and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a hot skillet for the best crispy edges
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed
  • Prep toppings ahead for quick assembly
