Description

A fun and festive Spider Web Taco Dip layered with beans, beef, cheese, salsa, and fresh veggies, topped with a spooky sour cream web. Perfect for Halloween parties or family gatherings!

Ingredients

Main Layers:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Spider Web Topping:

  • 1 cup sour cream (in piping bag or zip-top bag)
  • Black olives for spider garnish (optional)

For Serving:

  • Tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat – In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess grease, stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Layer the Base – Spread refried beans evenly into a round dish or pie dish.
  3. Add Meat Layer – Spread seasoned beef over the beans.
  4. Spread Salsa – Evenly layer salsa on top of the meat.
  5. Add Cheese – Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over salsa.
  6. Top with Veggies – Scatter chopped tomatoes, bell peppers, and black olives.
  7. Create Spider Web – Pipe sour cream in circles on top. Use a toothpick to drag lines outward from the center, forming a web.
  8. Decorate – Place black olive “spider” in the middle (optional).
  9. Serve – Pair with tortilla chips and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter web design.
  • For extra spice, add jalapeños or use hot salsa.
  • Prep ahead by assembling all layers except the spider web; refrigerate and decorate before serving.
  • Use a glass dish so guests can see the colorful layers from the side.
