Description
Creamy mac and cheese loaded with seared steak, sautéed bell peppers, and pepper jack cheese for a hearty, flavor-packed dinner.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1 pound beef steak, diced (sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 cups shredded pepper jack cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear diced steak 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté bell peppers and onions until softened.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Add milk, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Stir in shredded pepper jack cheese gradually until melted and smooth.
- Return steak and cooked pasta to skillet. Stir to coat evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with green onions and serve warm.
Notes
- Add a splash of milk when reheating to keep sauce creamy
- Use freshly shredded cheese for smoother melting
- Adjust spice level with extra pepper jack or jalapeños
