Description

A quick and comforting dessert featuring juicy strawberries baked under a crisp oat topping. Perfect for family dinners, brunches, or summer gatherings.


Ingredients

Filling:

  • 5 heaping cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix strawberries, sugar, vanilla, and cornstarch in a large bowl. Spread in dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, sugars, salt, cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle topping evenly over strawberries.
  5. Bake 35–40 minutes until topping is golden and filling bubbles.
  6. Cool slightly before serving; optional with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on top before baking.
  • Frozen strawberries can be used; thaw and drain first to prevent soggy filling.
  • Make ahead: Assemble and refrigerate overnight; bake when ready.
