For the Tennessee Onions
- 3 large sweet onions (such as Vidalia), sliced into ½-inch rings
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prep the oven and dish: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Slice the onions: Cut the onions into ½-inch rings and separate them.
- Layer the onions: Spread the rings evenly in the baking dish.
- Season: Drizzle melted butter over the onions. Sprinkle garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper evenly across the top.
- Add cheese: Combine cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan, then spread the mixture over the onions.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 30–40 minutes, or until onions are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
