Description

Moist and fluffy banana cake made with ripe bananas and simple ingredients. Perfect for any occasion. Easy to make and incredibly delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir well until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Do not overmix.
  6. Optional: Fold in nuts or chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool completely before serving or frosting.

Notes

  • Use extra ripe bananas with brown spots for the best flavor and moisture.
  • Don’t overmix the batter — this ensures a soft, fluffy texture.
  • Want a layered cake? Divide the batter into two round pans and reduce baking time slightly.
  • Frost with cream cheese frosting for a rich, tangy finish.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm twist.
